A Cozy Winter Pottery Course

Have you always dreamed of crafting your very own tea set and learning the art of hand-building with clay? Then this is the perfect workshop for you! In this course, you'll bring your own ideas to life as you create a full tea set — including a teapot, four cups, and a little dish for your teabags.

We’ll be working with slab-building and pinching techniques — two lovely hand-building methods that don’t require a pottery wheel and are perfect for creating charming, one-of-a-kind ceramics.

We’ll begin by sketching and designing your tea set. Then we’ll dive into building the teapot, followed by matching cups and the teabag dish.

To bring your set to life, we'll decorate with engobes (colored clay slips). Afterwards, I’ll apply a transparent glaze to make everything water-resistant and dishwasher-safe. Along the way, I’ll also demonstrate a variety of decorative techniques to inspire your creativity.

Practical Info:

• 5 Wednesday evening sessions:
  October 8, 22, 29, November 5 & 12
  (No class during autumn break)
  
  
• Class time: 17:00 – 20:00 (includes a 30-minute break)
  
  
• Location: Keramiekatelier Nijmeegs Blauw, Gorterplaats 30B, 6525GX Nijmegen

• Bring your own ideas and sketches to work from.
  
  
• Please bring your own apron.
  
  
• Course will run with a minimum of 5 participants.
  
  
• After 4–6 weeks of drying and kiln time, your tea set will be ready for pick-up.
